When will they ship?

Batch 01 is targeted for fall 2026. You'll get monthly progress notes. If we slip, we say so the week we know.

Is my $99 refundable?

Yes. Fully refundable until 30 days before shipment for any reason. Email hello@lume.glass and we'll process in 48h.

Who makes them?

A tier-one Shenzhen ODM that also manufactures for two of the biggest smart-glasses brands in the world. We handle design, firmware, AI integration, and support. Assembly is done at a factory with FDA & CE certification.

How does the AI work?

Voice wake-word runs on-device, so nothing leaves the frame until you ask. Requests can be routed to a cloud model (OpenAI, Anthropic, or your own) — you choose, and you can turn it off entirely.

Can I use them with my prescription?

Yes. Prescription lenses available at order with standard and progressive options. We cover -8.00 to +6.00 initially.

Is there a screen / display?

No. LUME is intentionally screenless — camera, mic, audio, AI. If you want a heads-up display, wait for our next generation or look at Ray-Ban Display.

Are you going to be around in a year?

Fair question. We're a small, solo-founded brand betting on this category. Your reservation is held in a separate Stripe account and not spent on ops until units ship. If we can't deliver, everyone gets refunded first.

How does this compare to Ray-Ban Meta?

Half the price. Works with your AI of choice — GPT, Claude, Gemini, or your own. No Meta login. Voice doesn't leave the glasses until you ask. Same camera + mic hardware tier. We're not trying to out-Meta Meta; we're the alternative for people who don't want the walled garden.
